I assume Ludwig is the oldest American drum company.
I imagine Slingerland followed by Gretsch and finally Rogers....? Is that correct?

Of the 20th century's "big four", Gretsch is the oldest drum maker. Friedrich Gretsch started making and selling drums in 1883.
The Ludwig brothers came out with their first product, a bass drum pedal, around 1909 and started selling drums a few years later.
H.H. Slingerland started his company in 1912. They started making drums around 1928.
Rogers had been making drum heads since the mid-1800s. They started making drums in the 1930s.
Of course, none of these four are America's oldest drum company. Whoever can claim that distinction probably faded from history a few hundred years ago.
Wow! I had no idea! Thanks, man!
And let's not forget Leedy, even though they were fading fast by the 1960s. They incorporated in 1900.
