What is this snare that I just bought? Last viewed: 59 minutes ago

This was being sold as a snare drum candle stick tray or something. Seller was selling it with the candle stick holders. I was just interested in the drum, but I'm getting what you see here. It would be a bonus if those candlestick holders are sterling silver. :)

No idea what the snare could be, but I'm guessing European. I think it's 4 x 15. It looks like the tension rods are on upside-down.

Any guesses what the snare is?

Thanks

Whatever it is....I like it! Nice find. Hopefully both calf heads are intact. Would be a nice bonus.

I can't wait to find out. Drum should arrive soon. Seller didn't go into too much detail about the heads, wires etc. It was being sold as an ornament. I'll post more photos when it arrives.

Well, whatever it is, it's on it's way to me. I can't wait to take the heads off and have a look inside the drum to see if it has nice rolled over bearing edges. Hopefully it's not some biscuit tin. I'm guessing it's a brass shell. I'm a sucker for single-tension drums.

Thanks all, I'll post some photos when it arrives. I'm still not sure if it's Sonor or Tromsa or whatever.

Photos soon.
