Looks like a Ludwig chrome over wood.

Clearly those are bow tie lugs but the strainer is throwing me off unless that's a super new style black knob?

Kind of bought this on a whim after hearing Mike praise the Ludwig chrome over wood snares here on VDF :)

That's probably an early Rocker snare. 4 ply shell with (plastic) chrome wrap. I just rewrapped one to make a matching snare drum for my Burgundy sparkle kit. It should have a regular P-85 on it so that must be a replacement throw. These often sell for cheap but they were made in Chicago and sound pretty decent.

Later ones had the smooth Standard style lugs.

Looks like a 300 series import with that black knob generic strainer.Welded shell, not US made I believe.Still decent sounding drums.

Aren't 300 series just steel?

I think you're probably right, I bet it's a import. Here's another screen of the shell:

I think that is earlier (before Ludwig was importing drums) due to the muffler being present. They haven't been putting mufflers on drums as standard equipment for quite a while. The Rockers do seem to use a different hoop than regular Ludwigs but they were still being made in Chicago (perhaps the hoops were imported for the cheaper lines).

Or...Maybe not...I certainly don't know about every cheaper snare Ludwig has made in the past 30 years, but if it has a B/O badge then you have one of the drums I was thinking about and they are American made and can sound very good.

The snare wires look like USA Ludwig to me as well. Probably take at least a week for Goodwill shipping, so I'll know a lot more when it arrives ;)

Great point on the muffler!
