What pieces of each brand's parts would your ideal vintage drum set have on it? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Most would agree there's no vintage brand that got everything right, so what would a kit look like if you took the best parts of every brand and assembled something? No modern stuff allowed, that means no R.I.M.S. mounts!

Mine would include:

Gretsch Jasper shells and bearing edge profiles, 8x12, 14x14, 16x16, 14x20 and 5x14 snare

Gretsch 60's tensioning butt plate for added flexibility

Gretsch die cast rims

Gretsch tension rods on toms and snare

Sonor teardrop lugs, offset on the toms of course

Rogers tom mufflers but with Gretsch knobs

Premier 60's bass drum claws (super low mass)

Slingerland 60's snare strainer (tiny and super smooth)

Camco t-rods on kick drum

Camco floor tom leg brackets and cymbal arm bracket on kick

Ludwig long floor tom legs

Ludwig cymbal arm

Zickos kick spurs and brackets

I use modern stands and pedals, but if I were to go full vintage I'd use:

Ludwig flat base cymbal stands

Ludwig 60's tripod light hi-hat stand (with a metal cam replacing the plastic one)

Camco kick pedal

Ludwig canister throne

One day I might build this kit, if money is suddenly no object. What's on your ideal kit?
