What year is this Ludwig Keystone snare? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

I have an old beat up snare that somehow ended up with me along the way, and I only recently noticed it is a keystone badge ludwig. Any idea what year this is?

Serial # is 336045

It's a 60's model.

agreed. probably a 66 model. if its 8 lugs, its an acrolite. if its ten lugs its a supraphonic. fine drum underneath there anyway. worth bringing back to life for sure.

Ouch... Man, the things people do with vintage drums!

Anyway, yes, it is mid 60's for sure and it is definitely worth bringing back to life. A gentle stripper will hopefully get that paint off and you can buff up the shell from there. I'd remove all the hardware so that the shell is bare when you're working on it. Let us know what you end up doing to it.

Thanks guys. Definitely going to try and restore this. Will be my first project like this. It is an 8 lug so it is an acrolite.
