I have a pair of Noble and Cooley sticks make in the early 1900's. They came with a bass drum that has a nice painted reso head. I don't use em much - played a few rudiments with em....
Whats the oldest pair of stix's that..... Last viewed: 5 hours ago
I have various pairs of Regal Tip Nylon from the 70's that I still use today. Sizes are "Jazz" and "Rock" which are both 16". They have yellowed with age and have a different feel and sound, especially noticable on the cymbals and for rim clicks. I mostly just use them for recording now, as I've come to prefer 5A's for live gigs...Regal Tips of course. The Calatos make a great product!
You still play with? I still have a set of stix's made by Slingerland in the 1950's that i still play with.I used them when playing Jazz.I got them about 20 years ago they were new old stock sticks...Mikey
Even though I no longer play out, I still manage to shred my sticks (VF 5A's), over a short period. I don't break them, but the wood tips separate and the shafts peel from cymbal strikes. How can any drummer play with sticks for so long? Are you guys hitting pads with those ancient timbers? C'mon!

I've used Rogers 11A that I bought recently, that were new old stock from the 70's. Oldest pair I have are a pair of Ludwig & Ludwig 1A. Guessing they are 1940's...
Me too!
I have three pairs of Promark Billy Cobham 808's in hickory from the early '80's. One still in the package, one pair gets used on the Roland TD20SX kit, and one pair that gets worked out constantly on the practice pad since the day I bought 'em!!!
I had a pair of sticks that I was playing with up until last October that was, in my best estimate, from the turn of the century. I sold them to a collector because he made me an offer I just couldn't pass up.
Another fan of the cobham 808s in oak with a golden honey color.
Do you think promark would run off a batch if we organized a group buy?
I have a pair of 90-100 year old Noble&Cooley sticks that came with a chid's bass drum (handpainted = printed head). I've used them a few times when I play my 1912 Gretsch snare drum. I'm gentle with them.
I have a few pair (one and 1/2 pairs) of sticks that came with my late 50's Gretsch kit. They have the name of the music store on them where the previous owner bought the drums. When we moved here 23 years ago the store was still in business at that time but only for a few years after that.
The sticks are in good shape and I use them.
I don't use them but I have some 7A Ludwig & Ludwig sticks from the 1920's or 30's. I bought a vintage Ludwig parade drum and they came with it.
I have a pair of LUDWIG sticks from the 70's........I believe they are 5a. I play with 2B, so they are a little thin for me. Although I do use them sometimes playing my kit at home. It gives me a different feel. I definitely try not to break them!band3
