sorry guys but the shells are bare. someone has already stripped the wrap from all the drums. the blue sparklely turf actually turned out to be a stretchy matterial that some one took time and did a pretty good job at making it into a well fitted wrap. my job of turning this kit into a tie dye kit should work out fairly easier now, altho i am a lit'l disappointed, i was kinda hoping for some rare vintage wrap that i could of shared with my -in need of some wrap- forum friends but looks like i won't be able to help out, very sorry.

here is a cup'l photos for now, got more for the "restoration" thread i'm gonna do, but for now....

no wrap under here

Cha, cha, cha Chia drums!

Looking forward to seeing how you customize/Hippie-fy them in tie-die!

robyn - are you going to put on a substrate for the fabric first? Or are you just gluing the fabric direct to the wood? If you use a dark fabric, use a dark substrate, if using a light colored fabric, back it with a white/light colored substrate. There's plenty of thin, inexpensive vinyl you can use as a base for the fabric.

Too many great drums to list here!

Robyn,

If that covering was fabric, then you should have a pretty good idea how to proceed.

what i was thinking of doing...after cleaning up the shells i thought i would do a coat of paint then glue or the double side tape. who ever did this blue wrap did use the dub'l side tape on the toms and it seemed to work ok. i want to get my fabric first then i will know more which way to go. am up for any and all suggustions tho and will concider them all.

BTW - the wood underneath the rug looks like Luan/Philippine mahogany. MIJ/MIT/MIA, one of those.
