From Hobbs

I'm with Jazzbo on this one. Isn't he a valued member as well?Gary posted a whiny one yesterday that suddenly disappeared after stating that it sure looks like he shill bids on his own auctions. Also had an experience with Gary on the snare he's asking about a while back - twice actually. 2nd time I pointed out possible issues, fading, etc, and all the sudden the snare was pulled off ebay. Months later, listed again and again and ...Down in the hood the cats like to say "My bad," but Gary you point out how trustworthy you are and that you only sell the top $hit on ebay (at least you used to) but the fact is you're a little shady: so your bad. Your descriptions are horrendous, photos like a '50's p o r n film shot in a cave with really tan actors so as to carefully hide their flaws ... only you can't see any of what all the hollerin's about until, that is, there's a close-up and you wish you hadn't seen what you'd seen.Thank god I did not buy anything from you because it wouldn't have been pretty.Sounds like you're making a lot of friends with the way you go about doing business. Think you have some self-reflection to do,Chris

Finally , a voice of reason . Thank you .

Good of you jaghog to let others know of your illness. Some here, with that knowledge in hand may say a prayer for you or send out thoughts of wellness or peace to you.. That's how God and the universe works.

The friendly, brotherly, cordial exchange of knowledge, experiences and the joys of what we share are why this forum started. Lets keep it that way. Disputes will arise when there is a lack of integrity. People generally know when they are up to no good or are underhanded, the reason for conscience. We know there is no room for that kind of guy in any market place and they will soon be weeded out. The market makes sure of that.

This forum is not a boxing ring but a friendly forum and sometimes market place where folks learn, instruct, trade...Ditto to the other posts above condoning proper human behavior..."do unto others", some famous words that we need to take much more seriously in this world and forum.

Furthermore, as others have said, you have a nice drum there at a decent price, just a few little fixes, no big deal...

Uhhh ... no way! What a red herring, the illness as excuse. No one, I repeat: NO ONE who has a heart will pick on ANYONE who has a disease, learning disability, etc. This reminds me of those PETA ads with the saddest dogs on the planet.

Gary skulking off in defeat because some folks find his auctions suspect - hogwash! For the folks standing up for him, fine; I'm confident he is a decent enough guy who just has this flaw I don't care for. The fact is he was dealing with me saying what a fabulous SBP drum (collector's ... now a player's) it is & I believe he was insisting on 650-700 3-6 months ago. When it was on ebay I contacted him for more photos, answers to direct questions, asking for heads removed, etc - but he wouldn't do it for whatever reasons, so I bagged.

How, exactly, the h e l l is it whenever someone posts what a horrendous seller they've encountered or been swindled and screwed all you same cats show up for the lynching? We have a member who should be grilled and corrected. A honest apology, without the frowning dogs, please, and you'll have my support, help & suggestions even, because the snare does not look like a player.

Maybe Gary has legitimate vision, writing, reading issues & I'd be the LAST guy to give him $hit. This is about being a man & owning up ... but he's off the forum for a while licking his wounds. Here's his ebay ID: gd1825. Look up sold items. The snare in question now looks like it's been returned 3 times! But wait. There's the OBP downbeat with the hugely suspect "private listing - bidders' identities protected" indicative of shill bidding. It was returned ($960) & resold ($1324) {I sure would not want to deal with the dude if he ever figures this one out}. I stated this when he FIRST WAS BELLYACHING, pointed it out & then viola! His entire post was deleted to reemerge the following day (all what you're reading here).

The only hypocrite here is jaghog. & you better be sure I'd say it to his face, in a group with all you guys present because there is nothing worse than someone not owning up, which he sort of did, I suppose, but he's letting all you Kanye's fight his battle now, more than likely reading all this with his mourning coffee.

I come here for the info. when I need it. I answer others when I know what I'm talking about with 100% goodwill, so if you want to come at me, fine. But I absolutely detest bull$hit and it looks like we have some of that going on here,

Chris,

Thanks for the tip. I will read his Ebay ratings and review his listings. Need all the facts for sure...which apparently I don't have.

There are no weaknesses in the armor here at VDF.com !!

Nobody`s gonna sink this ship, the crew is hardened.

To think, "one of those" will cross our "T`s" and sail through is a mistake you shouldn`t make.

Regardless of who, we here together know the What`s ? When`s ? and where`s and that`s all you has to know.......

Carry on.....

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

O, I think I was wrong here ...

Only it seems worse than before. A few years ago I fell back standing straight up on ice & hit my head so perhaps my memory has been jarred (no flowers please); I should be dead. As a child I had to go to special reading classes because I had reading comprehension issues probably because my home life was ghastly. I can be a mother-____ because I've dealt with a LOT of crap in life & simply will **** you up if you're a liar, sneak, a$$hole. All the above is true ... so I have a special place in my heart for the kids who were picked on because they were different.

How did I 1st learn of Gary's SBP snare? Here, on the forum, where it was for sale. I looked up all his posts because I recall now that it came up here 1st . In 1 post: "now I have a museum drum rare seial too ill sell it serial 100001 skb" [BOLD is me]. So the snare went from MUSEUM to MINT to PLAYER.

He also listed his OBP db snare for a whopping $1750 on this forum. Yikes. No one bit so off to ebay where shill bidding ensued.

I went further into Gary's posts. He began one at PRECISELY EXACTLY the time I was asking all the ?'s on ebay with the title "drum grading" - you ALL should read it; it's not long. The EXTREMELY salient point here is this, written by Gary himself. I quote: "picture are the key to define quality, poor pics lack definition ... most of us geezers here were around when some of the drums we covet, were brand new, and now we see there aging and know the difference while others of a younger gen don't quite understand ... I personally don't no ever will sell a drum with out a fair and rigorous grade, going from my experience, I know whats up with 50's/60's Ludwig (some earlier stuff too) when I sell something I accurately grade the item as to flaws in and out of drum ..." (SIC)

He posted this because I was the one asking about the SBP drum he had. When I asked, on ebay, specifically what he meant by MINT/MUSEUM & said I want confirmation in photos before I do anything, the LISTING DISAPPEARED off of ebay. This was Sept '14 ... shoot forward 3 or so months and that's when it was back on ebay, MINT, etc.

I have sold SHOWROOM drums over the years to Brian Blade, to touring drummers around the world, and for fu@%sake Gary knew exactly what he was doing ... & more precisely NOT doing here.

Enough with the Kanye-like protection of Gary. Gary should exit the forum for good and he knows it,

Chris
