Hey guys, I'll save you some time thinking what's going to happpen to them by offering my services as guardians of your kits. I'll take anything you got, heck I'll even pay for shipping. I don't want all of you to worry yourselves too much, so just give them all to me!!
:D
I have also thought of the very same thing. I know that the guy who owned the Radio King partial set that I have sure didn't want it to end up in the hands of the lady who sold it to me for $40.00 four months ago......
DOH

Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp
once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Here is just a thought to ponder. I worked for several years trying to persuade a local museum to host a 'History of Rock 'N' Roll'. After much effort they gave the concept a shot....now it is the hottest exhibit in the Museum. I was just told last week all the local band photos will be part of a fund raiser calendar.
My point; this will at least save a few rare artifacts.

Nice thread!
As I stated in one of my posts some time ago, I want my drumsets to be donated to the Hungarian drum museum here in Europe so that they - hopefully - will be kept in the actual condition for the next generation/s.
I own my first drumset from the early 70s again and it is, also like the other two ones, in absolute genuine status so that it makes sense to do so.

It has been a "fantasy" of mine (kinda) to create some kind of "Drum Mausoleum" -a place where old drums could go to rest in repose...like a giant warehouse where old drums could be put into suspended animation until the right person could be found to re-animate them.
The National Music Museum was good enough for Bill Ludwig:

And don't "forget" to "visit":
Yes, but that's not good enough for me!
Believe me, I've learned to at least try and "voice" my writing by using quotation marks and other unnecessary punctuation over the years to indicate things like sarcasm and/or humor, etc. I also use "..." a lot to connect relative ideas and tangents of thought. It's a result of having to fill in the blanks where there is no way to raise an eyebrow *raises eyebrow* or roll my eyes *rolls eyes*
"See" what I mean ;)
