It looks kosher doesn't it? Is that what your setup looked like? The 14" floor is nice and clean. My 14" was added afterwards by someone and it's been well played. Nice condition overall on that kit.

Wish that I had better pictures, but here's what I have from around 1963. the snare is suspended from a Swivo mount. That "extra" mounting receiver doesn't look extra to me. The last blurry picture shows the Swivo hex rod from the snare mount on the right side.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Looks to me that the bass drum is outfitted with a swivomatic mounting plate where a snare drum would be mounted. My first pro drum set was a Rogers 1961 Holiday set that I ordered with a snare drum mount on the bass drum and on the Holiday model snare drum.

This is true, but vintage buyers tend to be a conservative bunch. If it's not catalogued it makes them wary. There were no layouts like that in the catalog once the beavertails came along, which would make many hesitate before pulling the trigger. If the special arm and and snare w/collet plate were there, that would make a difference.

I do have a Rogers beavertail bass drum that has a snare mount that is original. However it is a very early beavertail with first generation beavertails and is probably an anomaly. Perhaps a special order.
