10 lug chrome, serial no appears to be 678417

Best guess at worth, thinking of bidding on it.

Any quick thoughts appreciated, auction ends in 7 hours

It could be the concert snare... 70's wood shell 5 ply, 10 lug, could also be a TDR strainer ( just looking at the handle ) hard to see. I'd try for better pics .. but 100 bucks would be a reasonable start..

Cheers

John

Chrome over steel (I think) going by the badge. They used to be the Gene Krupa modelo and they were chrome over brass. That's about all I know.

It's a wooden shell... (has no lines)…

Cheers

Oh, OK. I think they're called a COW or something. Chrome over wood. I've also heard the term "chrome-o-wood". Might be a decent maple shell? I'm not a fan of chrome wrap. It's like faux metal or something. I'd tear the wrap off and have it as a player's snare. Might even look better. Just my thoughts.

yes It does look like a TDR throw off and wood interior. I have a winning bid at 70.00 with an hour left, we will see if that lasts.

Hope you get it for cheap. Let us know how much it goes for and if you ended up buying it? Good luck!

+1 with longjohn. COW 5-ply. 678xxx is over the limit for a Niles badge. If 578xxx then approx. '85-'86.

Well 70 was the winning bid so I guess I will see what I bought when it gets here. From the picture of the badge I can't tell what the exact serial number is so I will update this thread when I have it and include better pics so you all can tell me what it is I purchased.
