White interiors on 70's Ludwig? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Hey everyone,

I've found this guy on the internet who sells what looks to be an early to mid 70's ludwig kit (blue olive badge). Due to the bad quality of the pictures I can't really tell whether or not the badges are pointy, though they seem to be pointy. The drums are all three plies with reenforcement rings. Still everything sounds like an 70's ludwig kit... The weird thing though is that the drum interiors are all painted white.

To the best of my knowledge Ludwig stopped painting the interiors white somewhere in the late 60's. The 70's interiors either had natural finishing or a granitone paint job.

Does anyone know if some of the 70's kits might have had white painted interiors? Or whether some of the late 60's kits had blue olive badges?

Any help would be much appreciated! :)

try to find out if the wrap goes into the scarf joint of the shell itself. if so, they could be some pre mid 68 shells that got used later or possibly rebadged.

I have a snare drum from 1972 with a white interior. So, it does happen once in a while. I can tell it's a 60's shell by where they drilled the badge hole.
