My fault entirely and too late to do anything about it.

I Sent a late sixties rail with the ratchet type mount in exchange for a "Telephone Dial" mount.

When I received it it was in great shape, but, it did not have the Ludwig script on the front. I was assured it was a genuine Ludwig Rail.

My question: Who might have made this rail if not Ludwig?

Without naming names the company who did the exchange is a very well known

vintage drum company in England.

Can anybody give me some info as to who makes vintage reproduction Rails.

These can be found on ebay on a regular basis. You should be able to find the brand, & correct period part w/ no trouble. (BTW most of the American drum companies used the rail at one time or another.)

Your mount could be a copy made in the 60's in Japan.These M.I.J. mounts look just like the Ludwig mounts....Mikey

Steve Maxwell out of New York makes a reproduction rail. Not sure if it comes with the disk type you mention but it does come with a couple different types.

Thank you all.

I also have a bass drum cymbal holder which looks very similar to a Ludwig

model. Mine has a splined end which inserts into the holder.

Again I hate to admit it I bought it from the same English Drum store.

I could have bought lots of original Ludwig "stuff" on ebay had I been patient.

I wonder if they get them from a company manufacturing after market stands etc?

I just bought the Steve Maxwell consolette and it is the best out there I've seen. I use it on my RB's and my Luddys. The good thing is it comes with the long spade bit and the Luddy L arm. No drilling required. It's a tad on the pricey side at $140.00 plus shipping but well worth it IMO. I swap it out depending on which kit I'm using which is a pain but I can't afford another! I am in no way affiliated with SM drums and I had it shipped internationally.

For awhile, the RCI Starlite Company was making an EXACT, DEAD-ON copy of the old Ludwig style rail consolette. Then, suddenly, it was replaced with some kind of POS one.

JR Frondelli used to use them on his own line of drums for awhile. Maybe if he sees this thread, or someone PMs him, he might be able to tell you more about what happened to them.
