Hi.

I have no George Way , but as I understaind, it was a great stuff back in the days.

And new GeoWay snare goes on ebay for 4-500$. Old one same or double much...

But this one, 180$ ????

Is something badly wrong with it?

Yes - it´s 6 lugs and few dings, - but anyway???Its a Jasper shell, aristorcrats lug... maple...Elkhart, GeoWay...

the auction has 13 hours to go. most serious bidders are probably waiting towards the end to bid.

I totally agree with Mike. In reality bidding at this time would only prove to be counter-productive. You'd get absolutely no benefit from it since the only function it would serve would be to raise the starting price.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Actually most George Way snare drums are 6 lugs, finding an 8 lugger is a real challenge. The bottom line is that GW drums just don't command that much especially in this economy. I'd be surprised if that drum hits over $350. I paid as much as $500 for a couple of my GW 6 luggers but the economy was booming back then. Even the 8 lug drums only fetch around $500. If you like GW drums, now is a good time to buy!

Hm ... may be its the "bottom of the line"... but probably still vell built snare , and I guess, well sounding too.

I would abolutley bid on it, if seller didndt say "Bidding is limited to the lower 48 States of America. " :

For me it´s no problem thats it´s 6 lugs. I have play on several ( Not GW snares ), witch sound much much better than some other 8 or 10 lugs "cheap" snares.

And, as you said, it make sence to NOT bid until few minuts before the end,

Lets se what will happen. 180$ is cheap, from my point of view. Here in Sweden it would cost at least 5-600$ I guess
