Okay, I originally had intended to convert this drum to a rope tension drum but because of the rarity of the badge on this one, almost everyone that has seen it has said to leave it alone. Either way, the drum was bought with the intention of reselling so I am entertaining offers on the drum and may put it up for sale locally if there is no interest here. I will entertain reasonable offers of cash or trade. The drum has the Wm.F. Ludwig badge with the lyre that was only used for a few weeks in 1943 before William F. Ludwig had to change the name to WFL and stop using the Ludwig name. The hardware and the external muffler also all have the Wm. F. Ludwig stamps on them so I am going to go out on a limb and say that all the parts are original to the drum. Because of the very limited amount of time that these badges were used I am pretty sure that the number of drums floating around with this badge on them from this time period are few and far between. I am offering it here first because if it is going to be kept original then I think that I will be able to find another home for it with someone who appreciates the drum and hopefully will play it. There are some marks on the bass drum hoops that would indicate that it was at some point hooked to a bass drum pedal and the hoops are starting to split slightly at the scarf joints but that is an easy fix. At the request of whoever ends up with it I would be happy to reglue the hoops before the drum goes to its new home. The calfskin heads on the drum are in real good condition and the drum sounds really nice. The shell is 26" x 12".
