This is what I know:

The snare drum is owned by a good friend of mine in desperate need of money to save his home. He is a fellow musician and was looking into having it restored but unforeseen circumstances arose. He was told that it was from 1940.... but as I kept researching the snare turns out to be a little older. The snare's WFL emblem dates it to around 1948 to 1952.... There is a patent number located on the snare wires with the numbers 2517124, the patent was issued in 1950. No serial numbers can be found anywhere on the drum but from the emblems time frame and design it is apparent that this is a Buddy Rich Super Classic. I could be wrong.

The drum was stored in a large black case keeping the drum in decent, restorable condition. The drumhead is busted with exposing snare wires, the wires seem to be in good condition. From what I was told, the snare was never cleaned with chemicals of any kind.

I hope to have this posted on Ebay. But I would like to know what would be a good asking price for a drum in this condition?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge on this stuff. I appreciate any information. Ok... What I have is not a WFL Buddy Rich but a Pioneer? The badge says "Drum Co." Not "Drums." I was going by what I found here: http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/ludwig_badges.html

I did a little more research on these forums and may have found his snare.

Thanks to whoever posted this. 6.5 X 14 is what I measured.
