Billy....Ludwig now makes the cannister thrones....special order. I've see it in a catalog for as low as $309.

As soon as my holiday bills are paid I'm getting one to match my Gretsch Blue Sparkle set. Those cannister thrones look awesome with a vintage set.

For the money it seems one could be built under 200.00 with a nice upholstered seat, a keller shell and some wrap from one of the drum wrap companies.

Chief: I looked into making one...the cost of the parts came out to be more than $300.....AND, it could never look as good as the new Ludwig ones. For $300 why mess around?

I agree, I also looked into making one. It's a pain and for the $$'s it's a wash.

That's too funny. FYI Bill - Ludwig will wrap the canister with your own wrap if you send it to them through a dealer's order (Ludwig's WMP is certainly nothing like your Slingerland's). Though, I can't seem to find a good match for Slingerland 70's blueish WMP. There is a decent one out right now but it is actually a little "too" blue. I know Delmar will make a different shade for you depending on the order size, but it would probably need to be a lot of it and pricey.
