Whether or not we believe the story, the drum appears to be very clean. The right buyer at the right time is all the seller needs.

Too many exclamation points for my taste.

Well it's definitely not 1964. The tension rod style, lug screws, and serial number place the drum around 1968. And I don't really buy the "attic find, only been played a few minutes" claim. If this were true, it would have the original Rogers bottom head, rubber frame ends, and black frame strings. Also, it wouldn't make sense to replace the original batter head, as that would have added to the originality.

Indeed...

This guy is a little "off" on his dating, and all the other stuff that mlvibes mentioned too. All that said, with a serial number of #14013.. ( possibly #14018, a little hard to tell ) .. that would make this Dynasonic maybe a LATE 1967, but more probably a 1968. A far cry from 1964 which was the FIRST year for the Beavertail lug. Also, in 1964 the serial numbers were still only four digits, not five. All this said though...

Sure... a nice drum indeed! But not quite as advertised.

Thanks gentlemen!

All that being said, do we have integrity here? Is the seller legit, as in being mistaken on his description?

Do we have a fake here?

were not saying a fake, just a il informed seller with some embellishment added

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Now THIS would be the real deal. Transitional 3 ply, clockface, and 4 digit serial number.

NOT an expert, but I think the tension rods are a later model Rogers. The wrap appears to start/ end in the correct area.

What I'm concerned about is the danger of some genuine collector putting out big$$$ for a $500 drum
