I'm newly wired today! Caught a little replay of the Woodstock documentary last night on VH1. Any members there back then? Watched two of my favorite performances from that event back to back - Carlos Santana followed by Sly and the Family Stoned undoubtedly! What a Jam!!! Chased my kids to bed with the sing along "Want to take you higher!" Anyone know who the young kid playing the Vintage Ludwig set for Carlos was/ is? The sounds that he gets out of that 3 pc. set, assuming 22"bass?, is fantastic!! Awesome solo, makes me want to work harder on my own chops! Any specifics on the Santana drum set and drummer would be much appreciated! Baby, baby, baby light my fire!!!Jump For Joy

He played in the band Go,and also Go2,and I think..Automatic Man..

Maybe youtube.com has vids of those bands..

Michael has a solo cd out that is FAR OUT ...It is called FASCINATION.

Experimental Jazz maybe ,but good .Bill Frisell on Guitar und Wayne HORVITZ ON ORGAN.

OH one more thing.That kit he used at Woodstock was auctioned off awhile back. Not sure how much it fetched,but there were pictures of Michael and the kit with his letter saying it was in fact "the same kit"champange sparkle to boot.V

I went to high school with Mike, we studied with the same teacher, practiced together, saw music together etc. I played on that Champagne drumset! I heard Santana's first album before it was released as he was recording it at Pacific Studios in San Mateo and he invited me to come in and listen to the freshly recorded tracks. Great memories!

Mike contacted me last year about his idea to sell the Woodstock drumset...did he really sell it? I advised him to try the big auction houses as Ebay or CL were not the correct places for that historic drumset.
