Yamaha Brass Snare drum - SD416 Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Loading...

Hello Everyone,

I own a Yamaha Brass Snare drum (SD416) and was wondering if anyone has come across this drum before?

This drum is now discontinued. It’s got a seamless brass shell and the snare

brace is not a conventional snare brace, it is a block with 8 cable snares (gut snares), and vertical/horizontal adjustable strainer/throw.

I am looking for the full block with the cable snares and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to where I could purchase the part.

I will look forward to hearing if anyone can help me.

Kind Regards,

Lee

I have that same snare, and it's a great one. Probably the easiest to tune of any I have or have had. Wide tuning range, too.

I can't help with where to find replacement snares, but I can at least provide pix of how they look. Do you have the bracket the individual snares fit into or is that gone as well?

Hi doublestroke kid,

Thank you for your response and attaching some great photos.

That is the same drum. I have the bracket the individual snares fit into and the snare cables but the cables have come away from the block and I can’t get the snare cables back into the block. I will try to put some photos up later when I get in from work.

Cheers,

Lee

I'd call or email them and double-check, though.

You could also try Black Swamp. They make these types of snares. They are more of a Professional Orcestral type of snare than a traditional rock or oter type of snare.
