Yamaha Recording Custom drums in Cobalt Blue Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Loading...

I am looking to add a couple of toms to my Yamaha Recording Custom kit.

I currently have the following 10, 12, 13, 16, and a 24 bass.

Ideally I am looking for an 8" and 14" and possibly an 18" tom.

I can pay via paypal or in trade. I have some old Zildjian A cymbals including a couple of Constantinoples (CIE ride and crash).

I would also consider Yamaha Rock Tour Custom or Tour Custom drums as placeholders until I can find the RC toms.

Thank you!

I just found a 12" tom and just updated my original post.

Still looking for an 8" tom and 14" tom, and possibly an 18" tom as well.

I would consider Tour Custom and Rock Tour Custom toms as well as long as they are in Cobalt Blue finish.

Thanks.

18's are pretty rare in this color... I'm looking for a 20" bass drum in this color and it is also near impossible to find; particularly in decent condition.

The 8 and 14 should be reasonable easy to find in the "power" depths; however in standard depth, the 14 is a bit difficult. The 8 is the same in regular and power kits so that should not be too bad, so if you find an 8 from a power recording custom kit, it is the same drum as the recording custom. (Model 908RC non-YESS and 908Y or 908YJ YESS toms (not sure of the suffix since it was used for the Y [deep] kits as well as the YJ [standard depth] kits, but I suspect it is simply a Y suffix)

I hope that helps you somewhat!

Cobalt Blue Yamaha Recording Custom 20b-22b-8-10-12-13-15-16f-18f
Red Ripple '70's Yamaha D-20 20b-12-14f
Piano Black Yamaha Recording Custom Be-Bop kit 18b-10-14f
Snares:
Yamaha COS SDM5; Yamaha Cobalt Blue RC 5-1/2x14; Gretsch round badge WMP; 1972 Ludwig Acrolite; 1978 Ludwig Super Sensitive; Cobalt Blue one-off Montineri; Yamaha Musashi 6.5X13 Oak; cheap 3.5X13 brass piccolo

Jim,

Thanks for the post and insight. I would be really happy to find an 8" and non-square 14", and would call it a day. An 18" would be gravy. Although, I wouldn't mind a smaller bass drum at some point, but I am in no rush for that.

I'll keep an eye out for a 20" bass drum for you.

Thanks again!

Jim,

At first glance that would be a good size.

Why don't you shoot me a PM and we can talk about.

Thanks.
