The chrome over wood drums were just that, Chrome plated steel over wood. It's not stainless and therefore it can rust just like the bumper on a 57 Chevy. Apparently these weren't stored under optimum conditions.
I'd say they were left at the the henhouse! maybe you can fool someone advertising them as the super rare Ludwig Copper over wood?
If you had an entire kit like that it would sure be viby! I do know if that would be a good idea however. Your tech would require a tetanus shot prior to load-in and tuning.
