she is amazing gary !! saw this several days ago.
Kids like that make me want to break my drumsticks and burn my drums...
Amazing talent.

You just hope they`ll stay the course, as so many of these young talents drift to different areas. But usually when they are this talented in one thing, they will be just as talented in many others.Amazing chops here at such a young age and plays like a seasoned pro.And no...i`m not going to burn my sticks as i still need them to play, lol.

Certainly would make Buddy Rich smile and possibly hand over his title as 'The Drum Wonder.'
I find this display very encouraging when you think in terms of the development of drumming in just 100 years time, or even half that span. It has progressed at the exponential speeds of other aspects of life such as transportation, manufacturing, communication and, unfortunately too, the implements of war.
The other thing that comes to mind is how incredible the mind is. Just think about all that goes into the activity you witness in that film both from her side and from the side of us, the observers and hearers. Stunning that the mind can drive her to ride hats and run fills at that speed in what seemed to be perfect time. Simply amazing. I must declare: Glory to God!
Wow, she's got awesome chops
Great use of the para diddle groove for sure!
Would like to see if she can swing though :)
Speaking of Buddy, I wonder what he'd say about todays modern drumming style such as what this girl is doing, it seems to pretty much be the norm now to double everything up like the kick notes and tom fills in funk/fusion.
Well, I'm guessing she could probably swing in her sleep considering what she can do with Fusion. This link made me view half of her YouTube vids (loved her Flight of the Bumblebee), so thanks Kona for starting this thread. I think I'm adding Senri Kawaguchi to my list of favorite contemporary drummers. Absolutely ridiculous playing for a schoolgirl.
No, I'm not burning my sticks just yet. I recognized a long time ago that I'll never be able to play like some of these young prodogies. But even if I could, I'd be reaching for an oxygen tank or a defibrilator two minutes into one of those solos. Hurting

Incredible drumming, but that music gave me a headache a minute in.
Good. That's what happens when you practice. You become better.
