Hi all.keepin' it simple. Selling due to heavy medical expenses for mom, that Medicare doesn't cover. Here's the copy from my CL ad...

Very rare snare drum available. Zildjian/ Noble & Cooley cast bronze snare. It's a limited edition series of snares made, from Zildjian cymbal alloy by N&C, for Zildjian's 380th anniversary. There were only 500 made, 4 3/4" x 14" and only 8 lugs for less muffling of the shell.

The Noble & Cooley snare drum has amazing tone, power and sensitivity. You can play it loudly or quietly and it's lovely. I have heard of these snares going into orchestral roles and can see why. Equally, it's great for heavy music due to the projection it has. Danny Carey used a similar one on "Lateraltus" with Tool. I've used it with R&B {great, solid smack!}, blues and surf with equal satisfaction. The last one sold on Ebay was in October. It went for $1600. This one is far less due to a crack that was a problem with these, if they took an impact. It was repaired by famed repairman Joe Montineri, who made a special jig for hold it straight and brazed it. He's the only guy in the country to do these. You can see and hear before and after's of another one that was repaired with comparisons to other snares at

Just like Zildjian's top-of-the-line Cymbals

Weighs 20 lbs.

Zildjian's 380th anniversary "1623 - 2003"

I have copies of all correspondence with Joe about the repair. It took almost a year from the time I sent to him before I got it back, due to his making a jig, etc, etc. Truth is, it sounded just as good before. Probably would have been fine to just keep playing it. Stress riser was relieved by the crack, and it couldn't go anywhere. It's an unreal sounding, very sensitive drum. Go log onto the page I listed up there, and check one out. I'l be sorry to ship this one. Just what circumstances dictate right now.....thanks, Bill 805 540 8322
