They look awesome. You have a kit that many a player/collector are only hoping to find. Even without seeing your other kits, I vote keep this Ludwig. You have a couple thousand in just the cymbals! Mind BlowiI've been trying to decide what color to re-wrap my converted 1960 14x10 Ludwig marching snare to 14x6.5 Symphonic snare. You've helped me make up my mind, Vintage White Marine.-Tim

Thank you for the compliments. Regardless of what I decide, the cymbals are not going anywhere! I date drums but marry cymbals (at least the great ones).

I've been very fortunate to stumble onto some great vintage kits at prices I could afford. All are original except for the Sonor Kit. Someone installed a pearl bass drum mount on it. It may have killed the value; however, its a great gigging kit since it allows for easy set up.

Here are pictures of the other three kits.

Beautiful stuff! Nothing beats the classic, nostalgia-inspiring feel of the wmp. I love my bop kit, but there's just something more grownup about the wmp look! I know we don't see these time capsule kits come up too often. You just wonder how many more are squirreled away out there. It's a big country. Hey, speaking of wmp - anyone know any details about the wmp kit that Johnny Carson is shown playing in his CA home on the Carson documentary?Coffee Break2

They're all beautiful but I'll add my voice to the chorus - keep the WMP Luddies! :)

You know its such a cool story that goes with the kit, bought this drum, then this one, then this one. Ya, it would be hard to let it go knowing the story behind them plus they are just so damn pretty, and we all know the value of the sound. When I started restoring drums my approach was to restore a kit then sell it to fund another project. I did sell the MIJ stuff that I fixed up but the true vintage kits with original wrap and parts are just too hard to part with. I guess thats why I have 15 kits now, ya its crazy but I have found ways to make it work, and I love it. That said, keep them drums!

Thank you!

You all make excellent points. It is an excellent kit and truly beautiful. I will need to sell it and a couple other kits if I want to keep buying drums.

There are some kits that I'd really like to own and the only way for me to do it is by selling some of the kits I buy.

I put up a website this weekend to start selling some things.

http://www.gregsdrumshop.com.

I'm not trying to turn this into a business. My business is billiards; however, I figure I might as well put together a site with all the high quality pictures. Its not complete yet and you guys are the first to see it.

Let me know what you think.
