I just acquired a 17" a Slingerland black diamond marching drum and could use a 17" head. I have one that is calf skin. Also am wondering if I should convert this drum to a bass drum. It has wood hoops and claws.

If you still need a remo 17" head i have many Old New Stock type of heads..I have made a few bass drums out of these in the pass.On the plus side if you have both wood hoops and claws go for it..I have made a few with the metal tom/snare hoops that were on the drum also ones with wood hoops.Ludwig and Slingerland were the only ones i know of that made 17" drums..Slingerland from about 1930-mid 1950's...Ludwig from about 1930s to up to about the mid 70's.....Mikey
