So glad I found this site and took the time to research before selling them. If I didnt, I probably would have had them all polished up (with brasso), sold them broken up, made a total of 500 bucks, and thought I did good. Lol

I would put an estimate of value as it sits at $1700. If this was a Ludwig kit from 1958 you could add another $1000 to that price. I have bought and sold around twenty Slingerland kits (some with and some without original cymbals and stands) and none have gone for more than $1400. I will concede that the wrap is on the rare side. Your best bet is to find someone who had a similar kit like this when they were a young drummer. Nostalgia is a major wildcard in drum collecting.

I have the exact same kit '58. It's my keeper. $3000 is not far off the mark.

I think it's safe to say, $1700-2500 is the range. I agree with the wildcard comment. Since it's a rare finish, I'd hold out for at least the middle of that number.

All of these value estimates are made on the assumption that everything is original and in working order, dates on drums are all reasonably close, no extra holes, all drums are "in round", no ply separation, bearing edges are clean, all chrome is good, wrap has no issues (cracks, rash, blisters), snare is single ply, and no cracks or keyholing on cymbals. Expect a buyer to want to check these things and let everyone here know how you make out.
