1965 LUDWIG Blue Marine Pearl . . .good price? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

$1100-$1400 as she sits in my opinion. The Jazzfest does increase the value, if it is a matched kit all serials close, with no major defects...$1300-$1600. As people here know, these kits in fantastic condition are HARD to find....can always SAY, would wait, but until you get in front of them, well that is a different story. Price the kit with all the remaining hardware, and you are over $2000 easy. My :2Cents:

I agree on the side of those who say that the price is WAY too high. He mentions that all hardware on the drums is original, but NOT that it comes with hardware. At least that's how I'm reading it. If that's the case, then it's completely in the wrong ballpark. You can get a really nice kit for half of that IMO. And by the way, the correct name for that finish is 'Sky Blue Pearl' not Blue Marine Pearl.

Yeah, I'll be the lone wolf here ... if the wrap is as good as it looks, the #'s are close (nice if you can manage it, but not a major deal breaker), the chrome is shiny & more or less 9.5/10 condition, no snare rash, no dings, no $%@#, I'd list that kit easily at 2500-3k. But I do this for a living. Drummers are notoriously cheap arses & will snivel whenever someone lists a kit at actual retail values.

Whomever has this nastily gorgeous kit knows what he's doing. Also, when I list a kit on CL I ALWAYS list HIGH to weed out the cheap arses & signal to the cats who have a clue that they're dealing w/ someone who knows the business.

60's kits are getting a little less easily obtainable in what here looks like an exceptional specimen; I wonder if $'s will spike up the next lock on the vintage canal in a year or so??? That said, 1 pic ain't enough to make a decision on. Be careful,

I own and play the 63' (pre-serial number) version of the same kit. SBP over clear 3-ply maple shells. I think these drums are the best sounding drums Ludwig ever manufactured. That 65' kit is priced right. Not high at all considering the rarity of complete kits, in good condition, in that finish. Try to find another one as nice as that 65' for less money... then get back to me.

I say buy it, it'll only increase in value with passing time.

Here's a shot of mine. (Sorry, I just love showing these off! )

Sorry I realized I wasn't clear in my original post. I am looking to buy these drums and found them online on craigslist. From what you guys are saying so far, they are abut $1000 overpriced?

I did a nationwide search on Craigslist, and this kit is not to be found. Hmmmmm, bet it sold!LoLoLoLo

Here is a Black oyster pearl kit I saw at Rockin Robins in Houston last week. They were asking 2500. From what I know, bop is more expensive wrap then sky blue pearl. These drums were in excellent condition also. If you can live with a few scratches and minor defects you will be able to find a kit like yours for less money, but, it will take time.

I looked as well. Nada. Another instance where it is clearly dangerous pointing out where the kit is actually listed (CL)!!! A no-no if you do not want to awaken the p r i c k s who are only going to snatch your coveted baby out of your grasp! I'd feel bad for you, but it sounds like you were not going to get it anyway,

It just struck me that I'd like to be entombed in a sky blue pearl sarcophagus when the times comes - one of my most favorite wraps, if not the

Just wondering --- how do you do a "nationwide search" on Craigslist?

Thanks!
