That's the nicest one I've ever seen....and I've seen lots of them.

I'd be all over that if I didn't have too many kits already. I had to draw the line awhile ago.

That's a beauty!

Super nice indeed. But not $9000 nice.

Seriously, what are these really worth?

That's a tough thing to answer. I've learned that these are so rare to begin with and in this condition in one of the original finishes - forget about it. So while I personally wouldn't lay down that kind of money, I wouldn't be completely shocked if someone did. It's kind of like a super rare, exotic vintage car. Not a lot of previous sales to compare it to. For a collector (and hopefully player) with the means, that would be something very special to own. And hey...it's still a heck of a lot cheaper than a Bugatti.

Man, I'm with you on that, gwm. Personally, I think it's worth more than $8,000, but it's just too bad that I don't have a warehouse and unlimited funds to buy it. However, some people do have the resources to own that kit (and then some) and never even sneeze over it.

Forums like this attract a lot of knowledgeable "bargain hunters". I include myself in that circle, too. But, when I sell, I am selling for TOP dollar

-PERIOD.

I respect seeing someone who knows how to price a rare drum set like that. When I sell, I'm not looking to lose money on my investments; I am looking for the rich people to be buyers. I'm sure the same thing is true of this seller. He's obviously done the homework and knows what he has and he's priced it fairly, in my opinion. He also probably realizes that if it doesn't sell at that price, then the fishing wasn't good that day...but try, try again and that drum set will find its way to the next knowledgeable person, hopefully.

As far as I can tell, that kit is pretty close to mint condition. Just for chuckles, go out and price a Craviotto kit or one of the many custom, high-end kits of today -without hardware and cymbals, and get back to me. Try to get a Craviotto kit, etc., with an 18 X 12 bass drum. Make sure you include the price of a matching snare drum with that, too....You get the idea.

A beautiful first-year Jazzette kit like that, in original maple Thermogloss lacquer, complete with the matching Supra and the correct hardware package for under 10K is going to be a bargain to someone...just not me, unfortunately.

That's gotta be one of the nicest drum sets I've ever seen in my life! Gorgeous and SUPER, SUPER-RARE!

Just to add...

I've only seen ONE other example of Jazzette with the matching Supra (which I presume is the case, here) and the matching hardware package....and I own it. A Jazzette as complete as this one is unheard of, though....until now!

In a perfect world, it would have been the Mahogany Thermogloss finish, but nothing is ever perfect, is it! ;)

I've got the Mahagony Thermoglass finish but as you know, O-Lugs, mine is far from perfect. This one is drop-dead gorgeous.

Ya - my vote is that kit looks like it's worth every penny of that and more.

Gorgeous!

You figure for 8 grand, the shipping would be free.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

I have friend who has the exact same set but with a 14x20 BD and some months ago there was a guy selling a Thermo gloss Clubdate (WITH 18" BD!!!!) on the Bay area for $2.000 (and he was throwing a lot of very nice pies)...I didnt have the dough at the time...

To me that IT IS worth that kind of money...
