1969 Keystone Acrolite Last viewed: 1 hour ago

As I sit here looking at this snare and typing up this ad, I know I'm going to regret selling this drum some day. CryBaby
Keystone Acrolite
Date Stamp - APR 8 1969

S/N - 701981

Original P-85 (serial number falls within Keystone badges having P-85 strainer)

Original Ludwig Weather Master Blue Ink Snare Head

Remo Coated Ambassador Batter

Puresound 20 strand wires (originals were too twisted and bent

Condition:

Shell is very very good to excellent condition

Chrome is very very good to excellent condition

No dents or dings

Half a dozen really small surface scratches that are only visible at really close distance

I completely disassembled the drum/lugs, soaked the lugs/springs/inserts/tension rods, polished the shell/all chrome and reassembled. This is a beautiful snare that looks to have had very minimal use. It really looks almost brand new. In fact, it almost shines like a chrome plated shell. Crap! Like I said, I'm going to regret selling it, but there are other drums to be had.

I am looking for $220 plus actual shipping/insurance to the lower 48 North American states. It's been mentioned before that the new "re-issue" Acrolite snares are selling for $380, but you can get this piece of "original" history for a fraction of the cost. Plus, after a Supra, we all know that Keystone Acrolites are the best looking Ludwig snares. ;)

I have pictures of the drum before cleaning, but I want to post pictures of the current state. I just need to get some updated pics when the weather clears. The future owner will not be disappointed.

Let me know if you have any questions. (Ahhhhh! Now I have to hit Submit New Thread CryBaby)

As promised, the rain stopped and I was able to get some new pictures.

The smudge mark at 10 o'clock next to the badge is just my stupid finger print. :) The stand is for display purposes only.

Let me know if anyone is interested in the larger and more detailed pictures and I can send them through e-mail.

That is hands down the nicest looking acrolite I've ever seen. Looks new out of the box.

Just an update for those who care - I just met the seller (nice guy) and wow, this snare looks like it just came off the assembly line in Chicago 45+ years ago. Everyone should own an acro. This was a bit above my budget and I know they can be had for less but the condition of this baby blew my mind. Anyway, thought I'd gush for a bit. :)

I think thats a pretty sweet price. I got $250 for mine with a case and it was in really nice condition like this one.

You can find them cheaper if you are waiting for a steal or someone that doesn't know, doesn't care what they have.

Nice to see a positive transaction among members. Good for both of you!
