I say buy them. You can always resell them if you don't like them.

This is one of my all-time favorite Ludwig finishes.

Ludwig Black Diamond Pearl 1966 5x14 S.S./13/16/22
Gretsch wood finish 1959 5x14/13/16/22
Slingerland Radio King Capri Pearl 5x14 Radio King
Gretsch Silver Sparkle Catalina Club Bop 2008 18/14/12/10/5x14
Gretsch Silver Sparkle/Black Stripe Catalina Club Mod kit 22/10/12/16
I think they are worth some dough. There appears to be lots of greens left in those pics and if all the drums look like that on all sides then you have a real winner there. As long as the finish is good, there are no extra holes or totally messed up bearing edges everything else can be fixed up or replaced and that set will clean up to look incredible and increase in value. Maybe you could offer between $12-1400 and see what happens.
remember they don't make those sets anymore and the value will only increase as the years go by. Let us know what happens! I see a real beauty there!
I would still like to see more pictures. Are the wraps consistent from drum-to-drum? Ludwig came out with a darker Psych red finish in the 70s and if any of that drum set has the other type it may make it worth less. Plus, a local sale on a set should cost less than a dealer price. I'm a pretty frugal buyer, though. Question is, would you be buying them to play and keep or to turn and flip?
You cant go wrong.

Didn't you special order that wrap???
Me?
Yes , for the basdrum.
It was in such bad shape that it wasn´t possible to save it.
But i could not find any matching wrap att all, so a great wrap maker, Greg, scan in patterne from my tom, and made a new indetical wrap for the basdrum.
Here is a picture when he recived my tom for scaning, and beside a "test" wrap.

Whats good with Gregs technic, is that the wrap he made is indetical with original, no more, no less fade, so it macth perfect resten of set.
