Nice.... sounds like you have it set up perfect now. They can be a bit fickle but once setup right they are sweet. Yes they do sound great too! Olympic drums sells a telescopic handle insert. It's really not needed with the 5.5" but I got one anyway. Depending who you bought the handle from Emory or JP2 it may or may not be a drop in fit. Anyhoooo enjoy those are beautiful drums! :)

Those are just absolutly stunning! Ya I would take those over a 2006 Ludwig classic maple kit any day, heck you can get those any time. You should be a very happy man, Im happy for you too!

Thanks again, Fellas. My thinking was that I could buy a newer Ludwig Classic Maple kit anytime, but not too many late 50's Slingy sets come along that are this nice and at a great price. By the way, if anyone is interested in an equally nice Classic Maple kit in champagne sparkle, PM me.

I'm sure I will eventually buy the telescopic insert. I bought the replacement handle from Emory. Is this the one that drops in or does it need work?
