What you have there is a nice vintage kit in good condition. I wouldn't try to do anything with the wrap. Leave it as is. I wish you well in your sale.

Gerald,
Thank you. I might end up trading the kit or keeping it but yes I feel either way the wrap should stay as it is. I have a pile of snares I might thin out just so I can get my Joe Morello and another Rogers kit with a 20" bass drum.
Half the fun with these drums is the hunt I have found :)

The wrap on that kit is outstanding! Very cool. If I had my way I would own one of those too one day. Good luck with the sale/trade or whatever works out for you.

Why does the muffler knob on the 9x13 face the audience? That`s the orientation of the right hand tom on a double mounted tom setup.
In case of deal with johnnyringo:

Hi Airborne,
You mentioned wood creaking when using the Swivo tom mount. Can you tell if there`s a crack or damage to either the bass or tom shell? Thanks.

No damage or cracking. I have used it and it holds fine but I prefer using a snare basket or hanging off of a stand.

I sent you a pm about a possible trade, I haven't heard anything, did you change your mind?
Hi Manny,PM sent.

The tone control was mounted in the panel next to the badge until 1969-70 . After that it was moved an extra panel to the rear. That was also the time that they switched the toms to 2 badges...
