Ooooh....Club Dates would keep the whole bow-tie lug look going. I like that. Good idea!

The prototype kit picture and small details are on page 184 of the Ludwig book by Rob Cook.

The Trick snare I owned was thick. Much thicker than anything Ludwig would have put out. I would LOVE to play a Ludalloy kit. That would be slick. I wonder if this is a feasible / possibility. Would Ludwigs supplier (or Ludwig if they make them) consider doing a special order???

It may have looked cool, but with all due respect the Acrolite snare sounds terrible. The only Ludwig snare in my collection that I ever got rid of.......I guess I could have kept it, just for the sake of having one.....but man, to me it sounded awful....

Hmmmm, I get you. But can I say that the great thing about this vintage game is variables. My particular Vintage 60's Acro with it's keystone badge is incredible. It has a brittle sound that conveys itself so wonderfully over the mics in a studio that it can't be touched by anything else. It needs a light touch but man that thing sounds just beautiful. That snare has earn't me a packet of respect and dosh too. Can't say fairer than that!

Maybe your particular Acro was bad but mine is gold dust. So I'm sorry but Acros rule. Sorry mate.
