There's been a thread or two about that very thing - changing out the light duty lugs for classic's. I've never heard a set like that, but I would imagine it would sound very, very close to a regular Ludwig kit of that era.I REALLY like Acrolite's. I've got a bunch, and include them in my snare rotation. Those Ruby's look sweet! Did you change the post mount on the bass? It looks like a normal Ludwig Classic mount.

That modification was there when I got the set. I thnk that the hole pattern is the same for the Standard single tom mounting plate. if I find one at the right price, I'll put the single mount on the drum. Otherwise, I don't really care, and will use the second tom mini L arm for a cow bell.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

That's the way to do it...run a cowbell on it!

You bet! About half of my kits came with two racks, and dual mounts. I put a cymbal arm on the ones I can, and mount the ride. Some just won't work without huge changes.
