You have such a nice, clean, well cared for kit, it would be a sin to damage it.

I just have one request for you vinito,...take the pillow out of the bass drum after each and every time you use the kit,...There are so many threads here on how to fix the damage it will do to the shell`s interior.
Why even use one the sound with felt belt and head is great none better

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Those 1400 flat base stands go with that set. I actually prefer those to the heavier double braced stands. I always keep three of them in my little trap case I use with all my sets. They look more vintage, lighter, and easy to transport. You can get the rubber feet for them on eBay.
Thanks for the warning on the bass drum stuffing. Never heard about that before, but for me it's not likely to get moved around much if at all. Maybe I'll be good enough someday that somebody outside my house will want to hear me play I guess. The internal stuffing has all been in there for years untouched, unlooked at, unappreciated. Shame on me.
But I just now ordered a full set of replacement heads anyway (which it needs badly) and the pillow comes out and inside gets gently cleaned up when the new heads go on.
Had my first lesson today. I really like the teacher, and since I was a music teacher myself for 15 years I think I'm qualified to know, or at least feel strongly, that I picked a good one.
Look for date stamp before washing it will disappear easy

Thanks for the kudos. My job is general maintenance machining. As such I have access to general purpose machinery such as engine (screw-cutting) lathes, mills, surface grinder, drill presses, various welders, etc. Our type of work doesn't have much call for "screw machines" or centerless grinders. Basically we're set up to fix whatever might break rather than doing production, so we're pretty well set up for our purposes only, which is plenty wide-ranging so I figure it's plenty good enough. Fun work really.
Back in the 80`s I worked at my sister`s fiance`s machine shop, I ran two Brown and Sharpe and a Bridgeport miller. I would never have trouble finding SONOR t-rods or finger screws, cuz I`d make them. We outsourced Heat and centerless.
