How the "F" could anyone ever have contemplated denying , Purdie, his "mind boggling" input to this site??.. He's done more playing than many of us could even dream about..
Cheers

LOL - Thanks for the kind words, but all that was a wife, two kids, a house and a 22 year long career as a graphic artist/lithographer, ago. I was lucky, I had a lot of opportunities just because of where I lived and grew up. New York had a booming music scene and all the cats that could play, knew each other and at one point or another, we had a chance to play together. Blues one night, doo-wop the next, it was a 'live' school where we could learn while working and earning $ in clubs and bars in front of a live audience. Kids today don't have the same opportunity to learn 'on the job' as it was back then. For one thing, we got paid. Today, -musicians pay- to have their band 'show cased.' It's a different world. I'm glad I came up when I did. Times have changed for musicians and not for the better.
Here's a shot of the grand opening night crowd at the circus... before the big banner went up! The hippies moved in/took over shortly after the club opened and it was all about music, fun and Free-Love ever after.
Check out the crowd... lots of women in fringed 'Twist dresses' ready to dance their a$$es off!
