The leedy has 12. If you look close you can see them in the individual strainer picture in the cooper's vintage drum link. I noticed the rivet also but assumed it was probably a repair. I only count 8 strand in the pictures, so either some strands are missing or the strainer is a copy of the leedy or perhaps leedy copied their design.

Found something , while checking out Jedsen (Dallas distributor) made by Premire, I ran into these by Hawkes and Sons 1928 before or around the merge with Boosey. Both have Ludwig two piece Brass shells, the first has a throw like the one I`m try`n to ID. (possibly Leedy Speedway) The lugs look similar as do the clips and rods !! They did not offer Black as far as I could find.

What say you guys ?

The rods and clips look like a match to me. The lugs on the Ajax snares look more ball like where the tension rod insert is verses the cylindrical type in on the snare in question. The strainer and its hole pattern on the nickel(?) plated Ajax strainer looks like it matches, but the detail on the throw is a bit grainy. I think you are on the right track.

It looks like the Leedy to me too except it don`t have the lever knob. Leedy products were brought to Europe for sales, but I don`t know if Sonor would have promoted any for them. The lugs that are the same as that late 90`s Hilite kit are makeing me think short run 20`s Sonor again. That throw can be found on a 1920`s Sonor black Nickle and Gold engraved series that ran through the twenties and thirties.
