Best Kit You've Ever Played (So Far....) Last viewed: 3 hours ago

70s Ludwig B/O 4-piece, some sort of racing blue lacquer finish I've never seen since. They sounded great, as Ludwigs tend to, but they were the best cause of all the money I made playing them :) [I've never seen that since, either]

This thread topic is all in the "ear of the beholder", but i`ll stand by my 1967 Rogers Clevelands as my drum set poison of choice.Easily tuned and can sing with the best of em`and so many great songs were made with that era of Rogers at the heart of the recordings.

Vintage drum kits are like beautiful women! My favourite is always the one I'm in love with at the time! I've had warm blonde kits, some flashy Asian sets and I was once lucky enough to have had a wonderful relationship with a Ludwig black beauty. I wouldn't mind tying out a premier English set sometime either.

You said it, Salty. Drums are very much like beautiful women... the older, vintage ones are so much easier to listen to than the newer, shiny ones.
