Yes indeed!, and it will probably come as no surprise that I have seen this prior .. actually .. I have it in my personal collection, as well as part of the interview before and after the little solo shown here! Cloudview747 DOES have a sharper copy here though, and that alone is worth a re watch! All that said ...

... and I have no doubt most already know this: Those aren't Buddy's drums of course, as in 1971 he was firmly entrenched with Slingerland. The Rogers set shown here was brought in for the segment, and not even CLOSE to Buddy's usual set up. As always though, it doesn't matter as BR could perform on ANYTHING and in any configuration. I always liked when he said "move over Mike" as he played a quick little sticking on the stand. On some performances/solos you can see the look of disgust on his face when the mike stand would get in the way... but this time no, he made more of a joke out of it! Great clip for the period with BR in a playful mood!

You don't suppose maybe somebody he had a previous run in with went and spread the drums out as much as he could and stuck a mic stand in the mix? Cooked Egg

I suppose BR would not have maintained a sense of humor if he suspected any monkey business. Yes Sir

Not a Guru... just interested..

The Mike Douglas show originated in Cleveland before moving to Philadelphia. My old drum teacher and still a friend, Bob McKee, was the house drummer on the show and a Rogers endorser. He also is the mystery man on the 67 Rogers cover and throughout the catalog. There were Rogers kits in all the TV studios around Cleveland. I had recently posted a few pics of Krupa playing Rogers kits on "The Upbeat Show," also from Cle. My bet is the clip is from the Cleveland studio.Dave

Bob McKee is my father-in-law!

Great drummer. He filled in for Buddy for a couple of weeks

back in the 70s after Buddy had a heart attack.

What a great guy! I could listen to his stories for hours.
