I'm new to Kent drums and was wondering if anyone could check the link and tell me if this kit seems worth it...
I'm wondering approximate year and shell construction. Although I'm not a fan of mixing lug styles within a kit, single and double, the wrap makes up for that.
I've pm'd Mouse in the meantime, but was hoping someone else had some input...thanks
Wow... $150 for a USA-made Kent kit in decent condition? I'd purchase it in a heartbeat!
The lugs on the bass and floor tom are heavy die-cast metal. I've got 16 of them waiting for a project. the center-mounted tom lugs are just as nice, and resemble Rogers lugs.
Kent shells are normally 2-ply maple, with no re-rings. It's possible that there could be a bit of ply separation, but you won't know until you check each shell. Still, nothing that can't be repaired.
As to the color, it's a no brainer!
Pick up this kit and bring it back to full glory. $150 is a bargain and well worth the small investment it might take to restore them.

The bass is the higher end 8 separate tension lugs per side model. The floor tom also has the individual top and bottom lugs, which is also a plus. There is nothing wrong with the tom tom having the center mounted lugs. Think Clubdate!
The tom tom does have a Ludwig mount, but Kents are not the high dollar collector drums. That is a really cool finish too.

Exactly what thornbeck says!! Don't worry about the center lugs on the rack tom, or the Ludwig tom mount. This set of Kents is better than player quality. Go get them, clean them up and enjoy!

I'm partial to Kent drums, being that they were my first set as a kid and I'm restoring a set right now. Fantastic wrap, I've never seen a Kent with that wrap! RUN, don't walk. They won't last!
Never had a Kent kit, but I own a couple of Kent snare drums that are 'student' quality... 6 lugs, etc. - but MAN they sound great!

Think of it this way ... you're paying only $50 per drum. ;)
Hopefully the Super Kick II and some other heads are in good shape to keep your costs down.

I'd love to go grab them right now, but as with most Craigslist things I try to buy, I can't ever get a response from the seller!
I've texted, I've called, I've emailed...they could be gone already. I know there are a bunch of Chicago VDF hounds out there constantly trolling for bargains...
