Camco Value Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hi, I wanted to get an opinion of the value of my camco's they are orphans that I rewraped in silver sparkle, extra holes in the 12" from the original mount but otherwise no extra holes in the kit.

Floor tom legs and bass spurs are reproduction, and the t-rods on the bass drum are dw, some of the claws are as well others are a mix of vintage george way and camcos.

Original edges on the bass and floor, 12" had the wrap routered into the bearing edge by trs custom drums in Toronto with the intention not to alter the profile.

Ill take more pictures if needed, bass drum has holes for cymbal mount but has not had them drilled through the wrap (I didn't have the mount)

Sizes are 20,12,14

$2,000 or less. That's just a guess. What was the original wrap?

Couldn't tell you they came to me already stripped. I do know at least one of the Tom's was originally lacquer because of the lack of interior paint. They are all Oaklawn by the way

Boy, that's a tough one. Good looking player's kit in popular sizes, pieced together and modded, without a matching snare or the desirable tall COB Oaklawn era hoops. If these were Slingerland from the same era, not much money there. The Camco moniker is the intangible.

If these were mine, I'd put them up on Ebay with a starting bid of $899 and with a BIN of $1250, and then I would wait to see what happens.

Good luck if you decide to sell them, although I'd be tempted to keep them as a killer gigging kit!

Thanks for the responses guys. Gotta say I liked Larryz's guess better lol. Either way I'm not very tempted to sell. But I was curious. I'm gonna post my other kit soon to see what the thoughts on it are.

They do look killer, and I know they must sound great!

It could be that they exceed the $1250 mark, but it is really hard to say exactly what they would bring realistically given that they didn't start out life together. It just depends how much someone would want to pay for a great player's kit that would cost a boatload more if they were all-original.

Enjoy them!

FYI, an early Camco kit (20/14/12) in silver sparkle (that had really faded and yellowed), but that appeared all-original including the tall COB hoops just sold on Ebay for a BIN of something like $1695. That seemed like a really fair (to slightly good) price to me. In any case, that gives you a more tangible price point to compare to.

If I recall correctly, I sold a re-wrapped Camco in 2013 for $1650. No extra holes, but all the interiors were clear and it seemed there were traces of white paint deep in the grain of the wood. I did have all the proper hoops and hardware. Hopefully someone on the forum got it because it was a very nice kit.
