Can anyone identify my drums? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Loading...

I bought a Slingerland kit from my buddy (paid $125).

The serial number is 885241, I really want to know more about these drums because I've been playing them for the last five years and I haven't been able to find ANY info regarding them. I know they came from Milwaukee wisconsin.

Specs are:

22" bass

12" high

13" mid

16" floor tom.

Black lacquer finish.

Should have added the 14" snare into the specs.

That's the snare on the left

Did all that bronze come with it ?

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

They should have come from Niles, Illinois. The factory was on Milwaukee Avenue though.

If you go to the top of the main page and click on vintage drum identication and then click on the Slingerland link in the drop down you should find all the answers you need.

Thanks for the information everyone. I bought the kit about 6 years ago, and it didn't look like it does now. It had some crappy sabian Solar cymbals on it. I've been working at improving the kit over the years, on budget I might add. The floor tom to the ****hest right is some kind of knick off drum that got turned into a lamp (I'm not joking), I bought it for 20 bucks, took the light assembly out and slapped some heads on it, and it doesn't sound half bad! Thank you for the replies, but I can't find any info on how much a kit like this would sell for, any estimations?

More info and pics would help. Are they slingerland "spirit" or slingerland "lites" etc.. , the toms look to be power sizes which doesnt help resale value. What is the finish? IF he had just sold you the slingerland drums with some cheapo cymbals (not all of the cymbals and hardware shown in your pic), then 125 might have been a fair deal for both of you

I wonder if the power connection for the lamp was actually for a calf head heater. Then again, I have seen a few turned into lamps. Cool buy though. Hard to beat that kind of deal. Based on the very deep ride toms, my guess would be late 80's.

Wow, that's some setup! Just a couple more crash cymbals and a third high-hat and you're ready to go. :D
