Cancelled Gig Last viewed: 1 hour ago

I'm on my way to the lead vocalist house where we rehearse to pick up my kit and head to the club. I get there and Leslie says, "I sent you a text, we got canceled because of the weather." You see, it had just started raining and although the venue was indoors, I guess they thought no one would come to their club because of the rain. We were scheduled to go on at 9:00 pm and they cancelled us at 4:00 pm. I look out the window at 6 and what do you know, clear skys and no rain in sight.

So now I'm sitting on the couch watching the 2015 Hall of Fame show, which btw, Ringo is one of the inductees, so at least I'll get to see him and Paul sing a few tunes.

The club's given reason for cancellation seems so devoid of logic I'd be tempted to ascribe some other reason, maybe something embarrassing...maybe they all coicidentally got really bad haircuts and couldn't bear to be seen in public.

Drag to miss a gig you're expecting to play, either way...

Just curious...why is this even a thread? Am I missing something here?

With the rain you guy's have had probably was a prudent move.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Why not? If the moderator doesn't feel it's appropriate, he can remove it with one swoop of his mighty finger.Violin

Agreed! Sometimes it's nice to just shoot the breeze.

I can see Cruisin's point though. There's not much to be said about it. :D

I know, I was just venting and to top it off, I lost on $100.

Just gave me an idea. Instead of getting paid to play why not get paid to stop playing? We could take our drum sets outside and "busk" but not so much playing music, but instead making a racket with a sign that reads - I'll stop when I reach $100.

My idea is flawed. Yes Sir

That statement by you probably makes this one of the rarest types of thread on the whole internet.

As for my response, I didn't realize they were getting a lot of rain in JR's area, on top of which I was projecting my own bad haircut on the club owners.

Maybe this thread should be removed...
