I just picked up a barely used copper 5" Pearl Free Floater. I like it a lot, a whole lot. Lots of snap, good body. Sweet.

From AtlantaDrumGuy

I've heard that copper is sort of dry. Since I have a hammered bronze, I imagine it might be a similar sound...

According to Ron Dunnett, put a piece of tape on the head of a bronze snare and you've got the sound of a copper.

Never play it the same way once.

One of my all time fav snares was my copper piccolo pearl freefloating snare drum , now i'm in the market to get one aging. copper snares do have that unique sound.
