Speaking of which but slightly OT, what do you think these are modeled on? I'm getting a snare with the 'Mighty Halo' option - looks sort of like a modern stick saver idea or halfway between a die-cast and a flanged hoop? The rims are bottom right http://sakaedrums.com/en/products/features.php
Die Cast Hoops On A 1962 Slingerland Drum Set? Last viewed: 3 hours ago
Paul,
Mighty Halo is for sure similar to the " Sticksavers "... There does appear to be slightly more of an inward "roundover" on the Slingerlands...
Your kit must be getting close now?? Keen to see it when it arrives...
Cheers

Thanks John - good info. I have a snare drum arriving shortly from the USA. Got a bargain on Reverb. Comes with these hoops, so I'm hoping it sounds like a slingy ;-)
The kit has gone into slow motion . . . . it's finished. They're waiting on a boat. Everything is slower with a smaller drum company (if they're popular enough I guess)
