I started selling stuff (from time to time, not really regularly) on the forum just a few months ago... and I've not gotten any "flack" from forum members.
However, I do sell on eBay regularly (haven't for about a month though) and HAVE gotten "questions" along those lines. I also used to try to sell through CL -- and got more "flack" through there than positive responses.
One set in particular brought me a LOT of grief (through CL & eBay): I took a set of "orphan" 60s Ludwig shells and put them together and rewrapped them in 60s BOP. I had several tell me my asking price (BIN of $1099.99 + shipping) was unreasonable and I'd never get it. Then of course I had with those "opinions" several "low-ball" offers: $400, $450, etc. Well, it took listing it 3 times, but it did sell at the BIN price. And, I got 5-star DSRs from the seller! So, HE was happy and of course I was happy and that's all that really counts, right!
So, IMO, even from VDF members, if they don't like your price, so what? I'm of a mind that sometimes people are just hoping to "low-ball" you and "shame" you into it!
And, IF a VDF member has a serious concern about someone's price, wouldn't it be BEST to be handled by a PM? I've offered "correction" suggestions a couple of times on here, because I'm trying to offer positive help and NOT trying to make someone look stupid or something...
Just my :2Cents:
