Shill bidding?
"Alvin" Jones, that's awesome. :)
I got the drum from Donn Bennett a while ago, but I'm selling it personally. Amazing drum, amazing case.
I can assure you there's been no shill bidding, lol. I don't engage in that sort of tom foolery.
John - like I said I got Elvin's name spelt wrong in the Thread Post and I have to live with it because I can't seem to change the original Post title.
Great drum and I wish you all the best with your auction.
Thanks, Gary. No intention to needle you, I just thought it was funny; goodness knows I have brain skips all the time!

Gary!
I fixed the title typo for you... didn't want you to suffer any more than you already have! LOL!!

The shame! The shame!Excited
Wasn't Alvin Jones the drummer in Alvin and the Chipmunks?
Haha - thanks Tommyp
Ya - the vintage drum people can be brutal - good fun though = blair.
I've been a bad speller all my life but this was not an example of 'bad spelling' it was just plain lazyness on my part. DOH
thanks again
Last days for bidding, looks like it's going pretty well.
Yes it is.
I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow - I'm watching this one.
I will take very good care of your drum Mark - you can be sure of that.
It is one fine early Christmas presant and a very good retirement gift to myself (Dec 7th 2012 - my last day of work for the Feds.).
This drum is even more special to me, let alone it was owned by the late Mr. Elvin Jones, in that the finish celebrates Gretsch's 75th Anniversary in 1958.....that is about when my Gold Sparkle kit was made.....
x-mas2
