I remember talking with Tommy Robertson some years ago and he told me they had a special method of cutting the bearing edges on the kick drum. He didn't tell me what it was, but the kick does seem to have that extra punch compared to other drums I've owned. In fact all the drums sing, this is the fourth Fibes kit I've owned and all of them had a special sound. When I sold my first kit I really needed the money and thought I could eventually find another one, when I traded my second and third ones I thought I had made good deals. Now that I've finally found this one I have no intentions of letting it go. Living in Texas, I should be playing a Fibes kit, they are, in my opinion, the best drums on the planet. If Texas ever secedes from the union, at least we won't have to worry about importing drums from the U.S.A.LoLoLoLo
