Thanks for all the positive comments!! This is a great forum! I showed my wife this thread...and she admits...when she first saw them..she told me to throw those dirty dusty things away! She thinks otherwise now :)
Was fun summer project. Took my time. Watched some YouTube videos and asked questions here. I WAS < WAS< gonna wrap them with that cheap ebay wrap, but few people here made comments about "letting the drums breathe" after who knows how long they have been unplayed. Glad I stuck with the natural look.
I didn't spend much ...I think the most was $40 for the consollette bar on ebay. Some new lug screw, 2 used snare lugs on ebay ($9.99) two were stripped. New heads for Remo, and some laquer, stain, remover, cleaning supplies. That's it.
Im currently using the Gibralter hardware for snare stand and bass pedal. The kit came with one original cymbal stand and hi hat stand.
Next thing im debating is to get an old Ludwig Speed King. How well would those vintage snare stands hold up? Debating also on putting the other cymbal stand on the bass drum....but looks cool without right now.
Great job on the resto! That kit has mojo aplenty.
Blaemire / Jenkins-Martin drums.
